Jon and Diane Deans

Director & Associate Director

Jon and Diane have been in ministry with young people for over forty years, formerly with Cru, Watkinsville First Baptist Church, and Worldwide Discipleship Association. Discovering an open door for ministry with young people through The Great Exchange has led the Board of Directors to ask Jon and Diane to give direction to this movement. They have five children, nine grandchildren, and reside in Watkinsville, Georgia.

Tom and Deborah Bohannon

Project Leaders

Tom is a retired software professional, entrepreneur and investor. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from The University of Georgia, an M.B.A. in Managerial Leadership from Piedmont College, and is an Instrument-rated General Aviation Private Pilot. Deborah holds a Master’s in Nursing from Augusta University and is an RN/CEN in the Emergency Department at Piedmont Athens Regional hospital. Tom and Deborah enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren in addition to trout fishing, hiking, kayaking and other outdoor activities. Tom and Deborah are active members at Prince Avenue Baptist Church where they serve in the Children’s Ministry and various other outreach programs.

Ed and Linda Caouette

Project Leaders

Ed has been saved in Jesus since 1974, when he was brought from darkness to the light by God’s grace. He and his wife Linda have been married since 1979 and have four children and eight grandchildren. Upon graduation from the University of Connecticut, Ed went on to earn an M. Div. from Biblical Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Ed then served as an elder in several churches in New England. His military experience includes six years in the US Navy submarine service and eighteen years as an infantry officer in the US Army Reserves. Ed’s work experience includes sales and management in the floor covering, electrical and electronics industries. He is presently retired from both military and civilian work, serves as an Elder in his church, and teaches NT Greek.

Nathaniel and Eden Caouette

Project Leaders

Nathaniel and Eden were both saved by God’s grace while younger through the faithful testimony of their parents. The Lord brought them together in marriage in 2008 as a result of their common heart for ministry. Now they have six children and have been blessed to serve Christ together in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. They are excited to be part of what the Lord is accomplishing through the ongoing ministry of The Great Exchange!

Tom Rush

Project Leader

Tom Rush has served as a pastor and military chaplain for over 34 years. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in 2005 after a military career of 28 years that included service in the Navy and Air Force, and one tour of duty with the Marines. He has used a similar approach to evangelism that is at the foundation of The Great Exchange ministry to lead thousands of military men and women to Christ. Tom is currently an itinerate evangelist with TREAD Ministries ( and Staff Evangelist at Liberty Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary. Originally from East Point, Georgia, Tom now resides in Monroe, Georgia. He has three sons and nine grandchildren.

Derek and Christie Sill

Project Leaders

Derek owned several real estate and construction businesses that operated throughout South Carolina. Derek came to Christ late in life, fall of 2012, after a very colorful lifestyle that started just before graduating from the University of South Carolina. After hitting a “rough patch”, being completely broken and surrendered, God saved Derek and his family. Derek has since completed his coursework for his master’s in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and is completing his thesis now. He is the founder and president of a pastoral counseling center with a focus on young people. He also teaches Bible classes to young people in a public school via Released Time. By the grace of God Derek and Christie have been married for 22 years and have been blessed with three boys.

Matheus and Camille Silva

Project Leaders

Matheus is from Brasilia, Brazil, where he studied International Relations at Universidade Catolica de Brasilia. He first participated in The Great Exchange in 2014 during our first trip to Brazil; Matheus has remained involved ever since. He lived in Athens for one year where he served full-time with TGE. He then returned to Brazil for a time and has been developing TGE’s ministry there. Matheus and his wife Camille now reside in Florida and have one daughter. Matheus loves missions and international relations and is excited to further the gospel through The Great Exchange.

Kelsey Flowers

Managing Editor of Communications

Kelsey graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and from New England College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She and her husband Chris live in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Kelsey works in human resources at a non-profit ministry in Alpharetta. She also works part-time as Managing Editor of Communications for The Great Exchange. Kelsey loves writing and editing and is thrilled to be a part of The Great Exchange team.

Abby Bryant

Special Projects and Events Coordinator

Abby Bryant earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Georgia College and State University. She is an Athens native and works full-time at the University of Georgia in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations. Abby has a heart for missions, both locally and internationally. She has been a part of The Great Exchange team since 2017 and works as the ministry’s Special Projects and Events Coordinator.
